After weeks of unseasonably warm temperatures, the Dallas-Fort Worth area should see slightly cooler weather on this week, according to the National Weather Service of Fort Worth.
A cool front moved into the Tarrant County area Sunday afternoon, ushering in drier air along with a 30% chance of scattered showers. Most people won’t see rain and severe weather is not expected, meteorologist Juan Hernandez said.
The front should bring lower temperatures throughout the week, Hernandez said, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the low to mid 60s. Those temperatures are more normal for this time of year in North Texas.
On Sunday, the high of 95 was still warmer than normal — historically, the average temperature for Sept. 25 is 86 degrees, Hernandez said — but the rest of the week should be closer to normal.
A tropical storm approaching Florida’s coast in the latter part of the week could also decrease temperatures slightly in Dallas-Fort Worth.
“It should be pretty comfortable for anyone who is out and about, “ Hernandez said.
It will be another unseasonably warm day today BUT a cold front arrives later this afternoon that will knock our temperatures back down to normal for this time of the year. Isolated showers/storms may accompany the front. Severe weather is not expected. #dfwwx #ctxwx #txwx pic.twitter.com/RGdKCmF4CB
